Boxing News: Daniel Jacobs plans to expose Gennady Golovkin's flaws on their MSG showdown

Reigning WBA middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs has his hands full on March 18, 2017, when he fights undisputed middleweight king, Gennady Golovkin. However, Jacobs is confident that he can expose the flaws of GGG in their showdown at Madison Square Garden.

In an interview with Boxing Talk, "The Miracle Man" spoke about the flaws in Golovkin's boxing game. He noted that he will capitalize on those flaws, mainly his defense, to give the Kazakh his first ever career loss.

"I definitely see a lot of flaws in his game and I definitely see me capitalizing. Obviously, there's risks to that because of his power, but this is boxing and anything can happen. We have to play our cards right, we have to adjust when necessary and we have to execute the game plan," Jacobs said.

The 29-year-old champion added that the defensive hole in GGG's game will enable him to get the win. He mentioned his speed will be the key but also pointed out that his power can knock guys out. However, Jacobs acknowledge the fact that Golovkin is a harder puncher and he goes into the fight as the underdog.

Since losing his first fight to Dmitriy Pirog in 2010, Jacobs has won 12 straight while also overcoming bone cancer in 2012. He defeated top contenders like Jarrod Fletcher, Caleb Truax, Sergio Mora twice and Peter Quillin during his winning streak.

On the other hand, Golovkin opted to fight Jacobs because he cannot reach a deal with Golden Boy Promotions regarding a megafight against Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. The side of Alvarez insisted a flat fee of $15 million for GGG to accept the fight, per BoxingNews24.com.

However, Golovkin's camp wants a 40 percent share of the fight revenue, something which Alvarez and Golden Boy do not want. The report noted that Golden Boy Promotions might be hoping that Jacobs could upset GGG since Golovkin cannot demand a 40 percent cut after coming off a loss.
