Shaq Fu 2: Shaq Fu Returns with A Legend Reborn, a Crowdfunded Shaq Game Endorsed by the NBA Star [VIDEO]

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn is a Thing that Exists, Seeking Funding on IndieGoGo

Allow me to process this news for a few seconds... Alright, I think I get it. I think I can write about this without laughing so hard that the police get called. OK, ahem. Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn has been annou-- oh for f**k's sake. I can't. This is so silly!

Alright, so, Shaq Fu is a game that has just been announced; That means there will be another Shaq Fu game.

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn is to by developed by Big Deez Productions, a team consisting of talent behind HALO, Street Fighter, Final Fantasy, Alan Wake, Spec Ops: The Line, Battlefield, Killzone, Max Payne, and Duke Nukem. Big Deez will be reviving the Shaq Fu name from the cult classic but poor-quality game released in 1994. The team has acknowledged the original game's shortcomings, stating that this time they won't “FU it up”. Oh my god...

Shaquille O’ Neal himself, the NBA star, is fully endorsing the game with his likeness, money, and voice “talents” (I mean really. Have you seen Kazaam?) The team has put Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn on IndieGoGo for funding. They're asking for $450,000 to fund the game. Crowd-funding perks include a copy of the game, DLC, signed merchandise, Shaq personally following you on a variety of social networks, and even a dinner with the man himself.

Despite how goofy this all seems, Big Deez has a fully realized game on their hands. Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn is being described as “Streets of Rage meets Street Fighter meets Devil May Cry”. The game is planned to have hundreds of moves, melee weapons, thousands of enemies, co-op, destructive environments, competitive multiplayer, and more.

Based on the screenshots and trailer, Shaq Fu will be employing an art style akin to Street Fighter 4 and Asura's Wrath. The game will feature an incredibly muscle-bound Shaq fighting ninjas and whatnot with overblown and ridiculous power-ups.

Big Deez Productions has stretchgoals set for the game that include a Challenge Mode, new levels and playable characters, mobile versions, and several console versions (last and next-gen as well as portables).

This week has been filled with video game announcements. Surely the revival of Shaq Fu of all games means that we've probably accidentally awakened Cthulhu...or something else sugguesting that we're near the end-of-days.

I really hope this game gets funded. It will probably be the death of me, due to laughter, but I need it all the same.
