'NBA Live 18' Release Date Delayed, Confirms EA CEO; A Bad Sign? UFC Game Takes Over

"NBA Live 18" is confirmed to release this year, but on a later date than originally expected. Given the delays, analysts believe that this may bring a bad impression to the embattled hoops series.

"NBA Live 18" Delayed Release Is Huge Disappointment

"NBA Live 18" has been confirmed to release in the fall of 2017, instead of an early 2017 release date. The announcement was made by EA Sports CEO Andrew Wilson during an earnings call. While a fall release date for NBA games are quite normal, some experts suggest that this may not be a good sign for the NBA Live franchise.

The delayed "NBA Live 18" release is believed to cause some concern, given that it has a sports gaming genre. In fact, reports indicate that delays have been the predecessor to inferior NBA Live products. Moreover, cancellation of an entire release in the sports gaming world will take much time for the fans to get over their disappointment.

Meantime, it should be noted that the NBA Live franchise series returned with "NBA Live 14" in 2013, but was faced with poor reviews. According to reports, the game got a 43 Metacritic score on the PS4. Fortunately, "NBA Live 15" and "NBA Live 16" made some progress, although not enough to be considered major players in the market, GameZone reported.
