‘Titanfall 2’ Trailer Shows New Live Fire Game Mode

“Titanfall 2” is one of the under appreciated titles of last year. Most of its failure it owes to the terrible reception of the first game, which still has players scarred and no manner of critical acclaim, can bring those people back. Even though the game did not sell as well as EA had hoped, there is still live support for it and updates coming.

PC Gamer has announced that a new battle mode is coming to “Titanfall 2”. The mode is named “Live Fire” and is a 6v6 action packed 60 second heated battle. The two teams of comprised of pilots only, no titans allowed in this party. The map is small, secluded and forces players into direct confrontation. The goal is to either kill or enemies or hold the flag when the time counter has reached zero. The narrow corridors and short time limit bring back action which has been forgotten since the days of early 2000’s, where wall strafing and rocket launcher assault were something normal.

If you have ever wondered, why EA tries so hard with a game that is slowly dying, you have to go no further than a click away to Game Rant where a short summary of the game’s highly unfavorable situation has been given. Even though it delivers a strong single player campaign and an interesting multiplayer with constantly flowing upgrades, the first title in the series was a huge disappointment, which still has its mark in gamers’ memories. Even though critics of both popular and independent media have agreed upon this being one of 2016’s best titles, it still cannot reach a popular audience.

The question at hand is, “Is EA really that desperate about Titanfall 2?”. Well, a single look through their official stores will give you the answer, as far as EA are concerned, a dying game with a constantly declining player base and dying multiplayer modes is still worth the full price of $59.99 for the standard and $79.99 for the deluxe edition. A look through other popular retailers gives a completely different picture. Both Amazon and Best Buy are selling copies of the game for $40. Games Deal has brought the price down $29.41 and Kinguin sells it on $26.38. The real question is not if EA wants to save “Titanfall 2”, but if EA is ready to let go of its avarice to bring new life into a great game. “Titanfall 2” is, for now, available on PC, PS4 and XBOX One.
