"The Last of Us 2" is one of the much-awaited titles of the 2017 since the game was unveiled at the PlayStation Experience in December 2016. Although there has been lack of details, particularly about the release date, some recent information may have given hints of what the fans should expect.

"The Last of Us 2" Trailer Likely Hints At Release Date

"The Last of Us 2" trailer indicated that main characters Joel and Ellie will both reprise their roles in the sequel. However, reports suggest that a hidden message may have likely been revealed through what Ellie is singing.

Based on the released "The Last of Us 2" trailer, Ellie is singing Shawn James' "Through the Valley", which was inspired by the Book of Psalms chapter 23 where the lyrics were taken from the fourth verse. As reports suggest, listening carefully to the song, the digits on a date format that reads April 23 could likely hint at the release date for the game.

"The Last of Us 2" game director Neil Druckmann revealed via Twitter that they almost created alternate characters, as voice actors Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker were not available during that time. He also noted that the game series was also considered changing with a fantasy or a sci-fi element into it, Video Games Republic reported.

"The Last of Us 2" May Include Political Statements In Storyline

"The Last of Us 2" will continue with the same political undertones, as confirmed by the director. While it is still unclear what type of politics the sequel will tackle, reports suggest of a likely well-thought out one just like in the original title.

Based on "The Last of Us 2" trailer, Ellie was after revenge, while Joel was prepared to allow her to do so. There are speculations that Naughty Dog will most likely take this into consideration, Attack of the Fanboy reported.
