Titanfall Player Hits the Maximum Level Cap in Less Than Four Days

Titanfall is currently being enjoyed by thousands of people around the world on their Xbox One consoles and PCs following its launch last week. Some of the game's owners have played a lot, and some have only had a chance to play for a couple of hours so far. One player has, amazingly, played enough that he has already hit the maximum level cap, getting all the way to Generation 10 in less than four days.

Reddit user DownTuClown is the gamer who achieved the feat, garnering praise from Respawn founder Vince Zampella on Twitter. He reached the level cap and went through 10 generations in three days, nine hours, and five minutes. The levelling in Titanfall general happens fairly quickly, but getting to the cap already is way ahead of the normal pace.

Generations are Titanfall's version of the 'Prestige' feature seen in Call of Duty: you level up to a certain number cap, and when you reach it, can choose reset at level one again, gaining an icon that shows you've gone through this process. In Titanfall, doing this wipes your unlocks, but you gain experience more quickly, making it easier to advance to the next generation again. It's mostly meaningless and just for show, but gives you something to keep playing for and displays to other gamers that you've put in quite a bit of time.

DownTuClown explains his experience with the game saying, "My kill stats aren't bad but I don't feel they're a good reflection of my skill which they would almost certainly be used for. I had to go out of my way to do certain challenges and those certainly affected my stats in a negative way. I played strictly to progress quickly rather than to have good stats.

He also says that he never really played with a specific team with any sort of strategy or tactics, and just ended up playing a lot of Attrition. "Most of the people I played with were individuals I met in random games," he said on Reddit. "A couple of others are long-time friends. There were less than a handful of times we communicated 'seriously'. Those were mostly CTF games against people with clan tags we got matched up against. And some random times where we just wondered what it'd feel like to try and coordinate seriously. It was mostly just a group of guys talking about random stuff like latest episodes of The Walking Dead. So it was mostly individual skill I'd say."

He might be very good at the game, and he might've put a lot of effort in, but it sure didn't take him too long. I expect to hear that more people will begin hitting the cap soon if they haven't already.
