PSVita Game Launches: ‘The Caligula Effect’ Gameplay Revealed For May 2 Launch; ‘Blue Reflection’ RPG Arrives On March 30

PSVita game "The Caligula Effect" developed by Aquria will land in North America and Europe on May 2.  Atlus will be publishing the game for its western game fans. The game was originally released in Japan back in June 2016, and has then taken the time to perform the additional English subtitles for the game.

"The Caligula Effect" Gamers Will Want To Escape The Virtual World

The turn-based role-playing video game will follow the lives of the members of the Go-Home Club, a group of high school students  at the Kishimai High School.  Some of the members have discovered that the perfect world they are currently living is actually a virtual reality world called Mobius, Destructoid reported.

Members of the group then decided that they would rather live in the real world rather than in the make-believe one that they are currently in at the moment.  However, escaping the digital world is not that easy, they have to first defeat the members of an evil music club called Digiheads, which is controlled by a vocal program called "μ."

The story for  "The Caligual Effect" for the PSVita was created by Tadashi Satomi.  Gamers who have played the first three games of the "Persona" series - "Revelations: Persona," "Persona 2: Innocent Sin" and "Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, will surely find similarities between the games.  The dark story is already a giveaway.

Players will also be treated with a unique battle system called "Imaginary Chain," which will test their planning skills.  There are also more than 100 skills to use against the opponents. Additionally, gamers will have to nurture their relationship with more than 500 NPCs or non-playable characters.   Combat will take place during dungeon explorations.

"Blue Reflection: Sword Of The Girl Who Dances In Illusions" Available For PS4 And PsVita On March 30 In Japan

Meanwhile, PSVita owners can also look forward to another upcoming role-playing game for their Handhelds.  Publisher Koi Tecmo will be releasing "Blue Reflection: Sword of the Girl Who Dances in Illusions" on March 30.  The game will also be released for the PlayStation 4, Gematsu reported.

Both platforms will only be available in the Japanese market in the meantime, but there are already indications that the game could also reach the western shores. However, an official announcement still needs to confirm this information. In the meantime, watch the PSVita's exclusive "The Caligula Effect" game trailer here:
