'PUBG Mobile' February Update Brings Collaboration with 'Jujutsu Kaisen,' New Team Deathmatch Map

Krafton announced that PUBG Mobile collaborated with the Japanese anime and manga series Jujutsu Kaisen for their February Update.

The collaboration brought in new in-game items for the battle royale, including new Character Skins.

The skins, all of which are designed after the series' characters, Itadori Yuji, Fushiguro Megumi, Kugisaki Nobara, and Gojo Satoru, are also revealed in a trailer video that was uploaded in the game's YouTube channel.

These new Character Skins, according to Gamepur, will be available as Cosplay Sets.

Players can get these skins by accumulating Exploration Progress points while playing Classic Mode or the exclusive Jujutsu Kaisen Ranked Theme Mode in either Livik or Erangel maps.

They will also meet the characters once they are playing either game mode in one of the maps.

While playing the Jujutsu Kaisen mode, they will collect Cursed Object Crates that will be spawning in areas across the map.

According to Anime Trending News, players who find these crates will get the special Sakuna Fingers. It will give them rewards and special achievements if they collect all of the fingers. They will receive clues through the Cycle Memories system to get these crates.

Aside from the Sukuna Fingers, they will also get weapons, ammunition, and other items such as armor once they open a Cursed Object Crate.

The new game mode also has the Cursed Corpse Grenade that can spawn a Cursed Corpse Cathy after throwing it to a target area. This special Boss enemy can drop supplies once they are defeated.

However, these grenades will not spawn normally, and they will have a small chance to appear on the map.

Aside from the new Cosplay Sets, they can also trade in their Exploration Progress points for Jujutsu Kaisen-themed rewards such as emotes, custom Weapon and Car skins, and the Cursed Corpse Cathy companion.

According to Gaming On Phone, players can get up to 140 Exploration Progress points per day.

Written and illustrated by Akutami Gege, Jujutsu Kaisen was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Jump magazine in 2018 before being adapted into a 24-episode anime series by MAPPA in 2020.

It follows Itadori in his journey to find the remaining Cursed Fingers and eliminate the curse from the surface of the world.

Joining him in the adventure are Fushiguro, Kugisaki, and Gojo, members of the secret organization called the Jujutsu Sorcerers.

Aside from collaborating with Jujutsu KaisenPUBG Mobile's February Update also added the new Santorini map for the team Deathmatch game mode.

The new map, according to Techradar, will accommodate two teams of eight players, and they will race to score 80 points during the game mode's 10-minute period to win the match.

The new Santorini map will be showcased in a VIP Showmatch on Feb. 18 at 8:00 PM ET (5:00 PM PST).

According to a post on the game's Twitter page, the Showmatch will have eight teams of the game's content creators and community players battle it out for a $7,000 prize pool.
