PlayStation Plus is set to welcome new games to its collection when April rolls along, but one popular title has been announced to be leaving come May 11. That game is none other than "Persona 5."

PlayStation Plus is about to have new games added to its lineup but before we get to do that, let us talk about the one that will leave on May 11.

According to the announcement posted on the PlayStation website, "Persona 5" is set to leave the service on the aforementioned date. However, a report by Destructoid adds that "adding the game to your library before May 11 will allow users to still have access, as long as they have an active Plus subscription."

It should be noted that the PlayStation Plus Collection as well as "Persona 5" are available to PlayStation 5 gamers who have an active subscription.

What is 'Persona 5'?

"Persona 5" is a role-playing game and the sixth installment in the "Persona" series. The game is developed by Atlus and released in 2016. The game is playable on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

Set in Tokyo, the player gets to control a high school student only known by the his pseudonym, Joker. The story of the game follows his and his friends' journey as they discover special powers as they discover a supernatural realm known as the Metaverse.

The game has received a number of award nominations and won some of them, including Best Role Playing Game at The Game Awards 2017.

Games Coming to PlayStation Plus This April

While "Persona" fans will probably be bummed that "Persona 5" will be leaving PlayStation 5, those waiting for new games to be added have something to look forward to.

According to the announcement posted on the PlayStation website, three games will be added to PlayStation Plus come April 5. These games are:

'Hood: Outlaws & Legends' (PS4 and PS5)

"Hood: Outlaws & Legends" is a multiplayer action video game release in May 2021. Aside from the PS4 and PS5, it is playable on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft Windows.

The player takes control of an outlaw whose objective is to infiltrate what is known as the State while simultaneously trying to steal the treasure kept in a vault before the rival team does the same.

'Slay the Spire' (PS4)

"Slay the Spire" is a deck-building game first released in 2019. Aside from the PS4, the game can also be played on the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.

In the game, the player takes on the role of one of four available characters and the goal is to reach the top of a spire. Along the way, the players must defeat enemies.

'SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom — Rehydrated' (PS4)

"SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom — Rehydrate" is a 2020 platform game and the remake of the game of the same name released in 2003. Aside from the PS4, the game is playable on the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows, Stadia, iOS, and Android. 

The remake features a multiplayer horde mode, which was not present in the 2003 game.
