Melee All-rounder Azumarill is joining "Pokemon Unite" soon.

According to Imore's report, "Pokemon Unite" announced via its official Twitter account that it will soon release the bouncy Pokemon in the game. On YouTube, the company presented a brief trailer showcasing Azumarill's gameplay.

Furthermore, the newly-added Pokemon is described to be a Melee All-Rounder, which means that it has balanced offensive and defensive capabilities. Currently, there are only seven all-rounders in the game, including Lucario, Machamp, Garchomp, Charizard, Dragonite, Tsareena, and Aegislash.

Azumarill Gameplay in 'Pokemon Unite'

NME wrote in its report that Azumarill has a wide range of skills that is perfect for team fights. The clip can shoot discs of water, which counts as an AOE or area-of-effect attack. There's also one particular part where Azumarill is seen to be using an Aqua Jet.

However, there's a prior leak about its gameplay, as shown on YouTube by ChowZ_Channel. Azumarill gets a boosted attack for every third attack, according to the uploader.

It allegedly has Huge Power for its passive ability, which enables it to land critical hits on the opponents regardless of whether it uses a basic attack, skill, or a Unite Move. However, if it attacks two or more opponents, no critical hits will take place.

In mainstream games, an Azumarill with Huge Power can instantly receive a 150 base attack bonus. That's a top-tier ability for a sweeper set-up.

Additionally, the video suggests that Azumarill will have the following skills:

  • Tackle (CD: 5s) - Has the user charge forward, dealing damage to any opposing Pokemon it hits and leaving them unable to act for a short time.
  • Play Rough (CD: 6.5s) - This fairy-type move can increase Azumarill's move speed for a short time. It will lunge at the opposing enemy for its next basic attack, hitting it with several blows and damage. For its upgrade, the cooldown of the skill will be reduced.
  • Water Pulse (CD: 4s) - When Azumarill hits an enemy with a blast of water, it will slow down its movement speed and deal substantial AOE damage to all Pokemon around it. The user can also dash to a designated direction during the travel time of the water blast. Its upgrade increases the max number of targets where the blast of water can bounce.
  • Bubbles (CD: 6s) - Damages and decreases the enemy's movement speed for a short moment. Azumarill can move freely while using it.
  • Whirlpool (CD: 11s) - The user releases four small whirlpools which can damage the opposing Pokemon. Oppositely, this can restore the user's HP when it hits.
  • Aqua Tail (CD. 9.5s) - The next three basic attacks of Azumarill will be amplified. It will benefit from the speed and AOE buff from a distance. The unique part here is that it can ignore the opponent's shield. Hence it's a decent defense-penetrating skill.
  • Belly Bash (Unite Move) - The user pounds its belly three times. After that, its attack will increase in the exchange of a chunk of HP. Upon charging a Pokemon, it will charge all of them. Those familiar with this word are obviously inspired by the Belly Drum, a move from the mainstream Pokemon games.

Azumarill will be available to play in "Pokemon Unite" on Thursday, April 7.
