European team Misfit's most promising League of Legend player has finally earned his first recognition. Mid-laner Vincent "Vetheo" Berrié of Misfit Gaming has been named MVP of the 2022 LEC Spring Split. The 19-year old French gamer has been presented the award after leading his team to a 12-6 record. This is impressive, given that this is his only second season. This win secured their third-place trophy in the league.

Vetheo Produced the Most Number of Kills For Misfits

The award is given to the player with the most votes from various Riot Games officials, coaches, professional players, and all of the members of the LEC media. There were 55 votes cast; 25 of which voted for Vetheo as their choice for the MVP award. Veteran Fnatic member Hylissang comes second place and Rogue's newest jungler Malrang. While the two showed exemplary skills, Vetheo showed the best plays this season, making this his breakout season.

Vetheo has come a long way since his debut last year. He helped Misfits reach new milestones this season. He produced the most kills, as well as the fifth-highest KDA in the LEC. According to League Stats aggregate Elixir, Vetheo produced a whopping 34.3% of his team's total kills throughout the split. Without a doubt, Vetheo is a phenomenal player and a reliable team member with a consistent performance week after week, leading his team to LEC glory.

It seems that all this glory for Vetheo came from a place of passion and hard work. According to Misfits' Director of Gaming Europe Martin "Deficio" Lynge, Vetheo urged them to set up a bootcamp to help their team. He said, "The moment we hit the offseason, the first thing he said to us was: 'I want to go to Korea, please let's set up a bootcamp. I just wanna go.' He comes back in the preseason and he just dumpsters people."

Misfits Still Full of Promising Players

There is still much room for development for the Misfits-their loss to Rogue, followed by their crushing defeat under G2 Esports. G2 Esports won 3-0 against Misfits Gaming in the 2022 LEC Spring Playoffs last Sunday, which ended Misfit's bid for the championship.

The good thing is that aside from Vetheo, there are other up-and-coming players that show great promise. Another star player in their midst is Shlatan, who was also crowned Rookie of the Split. While many noted the importance of Vetheo in the team, others have also noticed how Shlatan stood out this season.

The jungler from Poland has been with various European teams in the Regional Leagues before being drafted into Misfits' main roster. He was part K1CK Neosurf and Misfits Premier. He also participated in several EU Masters tournaments, where he and his former teammates won second place in 2020.

The Misfits stand proud as the third-place winners of the regular season with a 12-6 score. They are just two wins behind league leaders Rogue. Meanwhile, LEC fans will be treated to a best-of-fives match as Fnatic and G2 will face each other in the final leg of the 2022 LEC Spring playoffs.
