World of Warcraft VP: Xbox MMO Dream Alive, Timing Yet to Align

World of Warcraft enthusiasts might have their hopes up for the MMO to land on Xbox consoles one day, but according to the game's executive producer, Holly Longdale, that dream is still on hold.

No Room for Conversations Yet

Longdale, speaking at a press event for World of Warcraft's upcoming expansion, "The War Within," expressed the team's focus on delivering current content to players, leaving little space for discussions about bringing WoW to consoles. Despite the recent Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard, which stirred speculation about potential platform expansions, Longdale stated, "There's honestly no room for that conversation yet," as reported by GamesRadar+.

Dream is Real, But...

While the dream of WoW on Xbox remains alive within the development team, technical logistics and the complexity of such a move are not seen as insurmountable hurdles. Longdale emphasized the team's confidence in their ability to navigate any challenges, stating, "I don't think it is, frankly. I think we're pretty well positioned, which is kind of why we talk about it."

With World of Warcraft already juggling multiple projects, including the upcoming expansion trilogy, "The War Within," and ongoing updates to WoW Classic, the team's focus remains firmly on current endeavors. While the prospect of WoW on Xbox may excite fans, it appears that significant developments are unlikely in the near future.
