A new "Resident Evil Requiem" is here, and it has confirmed the one thing that fans have been buzzing about.
It seems that Leon S. Kennedy is infected.
'Resident Evil Requiem' State of Play Trailer
As seen in the State of Play trailer, a particular scene has caught the attention of fans. In that scene, Leon is seen removing his glove to show what looks like an infection manifesting on his hands.
"Leon, we're running out of time," the woman speaking to him says in the trailer.
What that means for Leon and how he got infected remains to be seen, and fans have to wait until the game releases to get the full story.
Another part of the trailer that has thrilled fans is Leon's return to the Raccoon City Police Department, where it all began for him in "Resident Evil 2."
It can be recalled that in "Resident Evil 2," Leon was a rookie cop reporting late for his first day at work. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise at it spared him from what happened at the station.
Is Another Character Confirmed for a Return?
Towards the end of the trailer, the back of a blonde female was shown. This has led to speculations that Sherry Birkin is returning for "Requiem," according to IGN.
Last seen in "Resident Evil 6," Sherry is the daughter of William and Annette Birkin, two virologists who took part in the t-Virus research.
She was infected as a child but was given the vaccine. However, she ended up with regenerative abilities because of it.
Capcom has yet to confirm if the blonde woman is indeed Sherry, but you can make you guesses when you watch the trailer below.
