Aeria Games, after a successful Alpha test period, has begun sign-ups for the closed Beta of their new FPS horror sequel, F.E.A.R Online.

The rough and tumble boys of the First Encounter Assault Recon are back, and they're coming to a computer near you. Aeria Games has announced enrollment for the Beta trial period, slated to begin next week on May 26th. The development team has taken feedback from Alpha players and have incorporated their comments into ensuring an "even better and more terrifying experience for all players when they hurtle into the beta."
They've added a new map, updated the crafting system to allow for some very unique weapons for players, fixed a number of bugs and are also teasing a lot of changes that only those who can conquer their fear will get to experience.

There are several multi-player modes and a slew of maps that will hopefully ensure hours and hours of good, messy, bloody fun. Maps have certain victory conditions that need to be achieved, be it a certain number of kills, the seizing of checkpoints or simply just winning the rounds. There are both PVP and PVE scenarios, so if you don't feel like losing to Tommy because he's obviously cheating, you can team up with him instead and try and survive the tortuous co-op maps the developers have laid out for you.
