Rebellion is quite happy today. After announcing that their hit game Sniper Elite V2 will be available to download for free for 24 hours only, the stealth action combat game has already racked up over 2.2 million downloads. 2.2 MILLION! And the free promotion has not even ended yet!

At its peak, the game had over 50,000 active gamers playing simultaneously last night alone. Rebellion hopes to increase those numbers 20 fold by the time the promotion ends at 10 AM PST today.
If you have an active Steam account, all you need to do is login and press one button, literally, one button and you will add the game to your library. That's how you get over 2 million people downloading your game. I don't even have a PC computer and I still grabbed it because someday...someday I too will know the joy of being a member of the glorious PC gaming master race.

Not content to simply rest on their free game giveaway laurels, Rebellion also released a trailer for the upcoming Sniper Elite III, which covers the game's unique 12-player multiplayer and 2-player online co-op modes. The trailer highlights some of the tense adversarial modes where stealth, re-location and teamwork is key. Additionally players can also enjoy the entire campaign in 2- player online co-op, or put their teamwork to the ultimate test in two dedicated co-op modes - Overwatch and Survival.
Sniper Elite III hits Steam on June 27. All pre-orders come with a 20% off discount, as well as the DLC Target Hitler: Hunt The Grey Wolf.
