'Mortal Kombat X' News: Sonya Blade & Johnny Cage's Daughter Cassie Makes Her Gameplay Debut At E3 2014 [VIDEO, IMAGES]

Check Out Mortal Kombat X Newcomer Cassie Cage's Fighting Variations and Excessive Force Fatality

We're in the final throes of E3 2014, and after NeatherRealms Studio Ed Boon head had given some closer looks at Mortal Kombat X "newkomers" D'Vorah and Ferra/Torr, now it's Cassie Cage's turn.

Mortal Kombat X's New Characters - D'Vorah, Ferra, and Torr: What We Know So Far

Boon was simulcast live on both Twitch TV and IGN to show the offspring of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade in action yesterday, giving gamers a glimpse at what she brings to the table.

Cassie sports the looks and blonde locks of her mother, but the attitude and brass of her Hollywood pops. Even so, that didn't stop her from following in her mother's footsteps career wise, though I'm sure it irked a few COs along the way.

As you might imagine, Cassie's repertoire is owed to both of her parents, and her fighting variations make that abundantly clear. Once gamers select her, they'll have the following styles to choose from:

* Brawler - adds Air Power Slam and Take Down
* Spec Ops - adds Air Assault and The American Way
* Hollywood - adds Air Akimbo and Nut Cracker

As it does with the other kharacters, each style changes not only Cassie's abilities, but her physical appearance. The gameplay began with Cassie using the Brawler style, which had her fists aglow with green, the signature style of her father's special moves. And while we didn't see it, Boon said that her Hollywood style has her sporting some sassy shades, just like daddy.

In her Brawler style, we saw Cassie fire off a pistol, perform a UFC style tackle followed with a few ground pounds, and a rising kick for incoming airborne opponents. Her Spec Ops style, obviously some influence from momma Sonya, had Cassie able to call in air-to-surface missiles on her opponent, and it seemed like they were pre-determined to hit specific sections of the stage.

This was all capped off with an especially grisly fatality showing Cassie's gunslinging skills, and how she disposes of old pieces of Bazooka Joe.

Check it all out in the video below, or fast forward to 3:26 for the fatality. More moves are also demonstrated against Ferra/Torr at 11:38, but things don't go so well for Cassie in that match.

Mortal Kombat X is due out later this year for both current and last generation platforms: PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, in addition to Windows PC. The game will feature, according to Boon, "a ton of new, over the top characters."
