Game accessories maker Nyko unveiled a GameStop-exclusive white version of its PS4 Modular Charge Station following Sony's announcement of a new Glacier White PlayStation 4.
Nyko Shows Off Wireless Charging Station For PS4 Controllers
Nyko had already announced its new "drop-and-go" charging station for PS4 controllers that let users simply place the DualShock 4 on the pad and let the battery get back to full, no wired connections necessary. Now, to make sure their product doesn't force anyone to have clashing consoles and accessories, it's introducing a new white model sold exclusively through GameStop.
"When Sony announced the Glacier White PlayStation 4 earlier this year, we saw a chance to create a product that would best complement its design," said Chris Arbogast, director of marketing at Nyko Technologies. "GameStop is an integral partner, so we wanted to offer its customers an accessory that adds to their console's performance and aesthetics."
PS4 Controllers Come In All Different Kinds Of Colors
Just like the original, the Modular Charge Station plugs directly into the PS4's USB ports and then serves as a no-hassle charging bay for up to two DualShock 4 controllers. Sony users hoping to get a first-hand look at the station in action will have the opportunity to check it out at Nyko's booth at Anaheim's GameStop EXPO on September 10.
The Glacier White PS4 was announced earlier this year in a bundle with Bungie's upcoming and much-anticipated online multiplayer first-person shooter Destiny. Reportedly, Sony will begin selling the newer model on its own later this year. The white Modular Charging Station for PS4 is available for preorder from GameStop for $24.99.
