Dreams Of Ice, And...Chocobos: Patch 2.4 Announced For Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn

Square Enix today confirmed that they are currently developing the next big patch for their popular, phoenix-esque MMO Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

Boldly Go To The Delta Quadrant In Star Trek Online This October

Patch 2.4 will be called Dreams Of Ice, and no release date has been set at this time. The patch will be hitting all platforms on which the game is currently available. FFXIV loves patches--the developers recently updated the Defenders of Eorzea content with the 2.38 patch, which hinted at several changes coming in 2.4.

The full list of 2.38 patch notes can be found here. Let's take a look at some of the highlights:

Solforge Update Imminent: 8 Cards And 4 Decks On Their Way

The "Mmmmmm, Soulglazed Relics" Zodiac Quest has been added. By presenting a fully attuned weapon to Jalzahn, located in North Shroud, you will be rewarded with a relic weapon nexus of item level 115 that retains all the upgrades made to the original relic weapon novus.

Player housing districts will receive two new wards, with more land available when the Dreams of Ice patch hits.

Remember, in order to purchase land, a character must first have attained level 50 in at least one class and also have earned the rank of second lieutenant in one of the Grand Companies. Each character meeting these requirements can purchase a single unowned plot via the placards found within the residential districts. Because video games should teach you valuable lessons about real estate economics.

Additionally, in order to accommodate features scheduled for implementation in the upcoming 2.4 patch, the following locations have received graphical adjustments: Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks and Eastern La Noscea.

Additional balance adjustments are planned for PvP after observing the impact of the rogue and ninja additions in patch 2.4.

In anticipation of new features planned for patch 2.4, an extra slot has been added to the soul crystal section of the Armoury Chest.

We'll bring you more as Square announces the major notes. FFXIV: A Realm Reborn is available for PS4, PS3 and PC platforms.
