The Power of Defiance bundle is completely free for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC versions of the game. Sorry last-gen players, but you really need to get with the times.
With the new content players become Lithariel, the Warrior Commander of the Tribesmen of Nurn, and lead the charge against the Dark Lord Sauron and his troops. Lithariel was featured briefly in the full game as an NPC who sought out Talion and Celebrimbor to bring the fearsome supernatural duo back to her mother, Marwen. Middle-earth has historically been quite the boys' club, so having a female character adept at hacking and slashing is a welcome addition.

The DLC also includes a few other new things:
- Test of Defiance Challenge Mode - Players face the ultimate test to their warrior prowess as they defeat Sauron's Warchiefs without cheating death or relying on the power of the Wraith.
- Epic Rune - Defiant to the End: Players gain an additional Last Chance to return to the fray in combat.
DLC has gotten a little ridiculous as of late. But you can never quite beat the price of 'free', no matter what it adds. The Power of Defiance DLC pack is available now.
