Clash Of Clans Update Goes RED To Fight AIDS As Part Of New Charity Campaign; 25 Best-Selling Games On App Store Join The Cause

Go RED To Fight AIDS: 25 Best Selling Apps, Like Clash Of Clans, Monument Valley, Angry Bird, Join Charitable Cause

The global initiative Product RED which raises awareness and charity donations to combat AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, has partnered with many apps on the iOS store this week. So if your favorite game has a peculiar red hue to certain parts, it's all in the name of a better world.

Clash Of Clans: Know Thy Enemy's Defense

Supercell, creator of Clash of Clans, is offering 500 (RED)Gems for $4.99. Purchasing them via the app store will give your Town Hall a red banner to wave proudly in the breeze. And also hopefully warn off any potential attackers. After all, do you really want to raze the village of someone so kind and charitable? Do you?

On the launch screen of Clash of Clans, the iconic Barbarian's mustache has been dyed appropriately as well.

The campaign runs for two weeks from today through Monday, December 7. All proceeds made during that time from both purchasing the game itself (if it costs anything) and in-app purchases will be donated to the charity.

As part of World AIDS Day on December 1, Apple will donate a portion of all proceeds from both in-store and on-line purchases to the cause.

Product RED was founded in 2006 by U2's Bono in order to rid the world of HIV/AIDS. Their contributions to The Global Fund, one of the most effective HIV/AIDS charities in the world, have exceeded $150 million at this point.
