New Justice League Movie: Throne Of Atlantis Introduces Aquaman To Animated Lineup

Aquaman Enters The League in Justice League: Throne of Atlantis

A new hero is entering the arena. In the new DVD release from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, fans will be introduced to Aquaman, lord of the seas. He will be joining the ranks with Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman in Justice League: Throne of Atlantis.

Wonder Woman Movie Has Its Writer

In the new film, Cyborg discovers a powerful threat beneath the oceans and rallies the JL together to fight it. Too bad none of them have any sort of underwater specialties. The villain for this film is Orm, Aquaman's half-brother and all around megalomaniac (why do superhero brothers go bad so often? Someone should look into that). The team needs the help of drifter Arthur Curry aka Aquaman in order to defeat him.

Aquaman first appeared in 1941 and has been a long-time member of the Justice League. He carries a triton as a weapon and is King of the Seas, King of Atlantis, and will appear in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice played by Jason Momoa. He controls sea animals among other more common superhero powers like strength and speed.

The Flash to Feature DC Villain Icon in New Episode

The Blu-ray and DVD have many bonus extras including Robin and Nightwing Bonus Sequence where Robin and Nightwing join forces, Villains of the Deep, a look at the evil that lurks beneath the waves, and Batman vs. Robin,  a sneak peak at the upcoming DC Universe Original Movie. There are also some bonus cartoons thrown in there for fans.

The DVD/Blu-ray combo comes out on January 27, 2015. It will also be available on DVD and Digital HD on the same day. The Blu-ray combo pack does include a digital version of the movie. If you are only interested in the digital version, that will be available through retailers early, on January 13.
