Upcoming Dungeons & Dragons Title 'Sword Coast Legends' Lets You Be The DM And Ruin Player's Lives [VIDEO]

Be The Dungeon Master And Make Those Player Characters Suffer In The Upcoming Sword Coasts Legends RPG

In what can only be described as an 'All Star Team Up', developer n-Space has announced the upcoming release of D&D title Sword Coast Legends, which looks like the coolest thing to happen to Dungeons and Dragons since 5th edition.

Space Hulk: Deathwing Gets A Bold New Trailer

The team making the game is comprised of Dan Tudge, the director of Dragon Age: Origins, and contributors from Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate. Basically, three of the greatest RPGs ever created. All working together to bring you an all new adventure!

The party based game once again takes you to the fabled land of Faerun in the Forgotten Realms universe. Though it looks like a traditional title like Baldur's or Neverwinter, the game comes with a bold and ambitious mechanic: not only do you play the story, you create the story. In the Dungeon Master mode, a DM "guides players through customizable adventures. The DM mode is not entirely focused on adversarial play typical to 4v1 games. Instead, active DMs engage and empower entire parties to have more fun in a way that best suits the desired experience." Create your own story, help your players in prepared modules.

Of course, as a Dungeon Master, why would you want to help? You'd be a poor one if you did.

"We are huge D&D fans and are thrilled to create a modernized storytelling experience in the iconic Forgotten Realms universe," said Tudge, President, n-Space. "Developing a new way to experience such a beloved and culturally influential franchise is a dream come true for our team. We are giving players a way to experience the magic of playing D&D as either a player or the DM."

As a Dungeon Master myself, the act of creation was one of the best parts of the D&D experience and to have that in a digital form? I'm readying my dice just thinking about it.

The best part, Sword Coast Legends isn't asking for money to be Kickstarted, it's available for pre-order RIGHT NOW. Head over to the website and get a copy for $34.99. Watch the trailer below.
