Princess Ida And Frank Underwood: Both Caught In a Monument Valley

Dreamatrix and Auroinfinity have just launched the Kickstarter campaign for Wave of Darkness, their hardcore hack n slash open world RPG adventure. The company previously succeeded in funding and releasing Legends of Dawn a few year back and are at it again in the follow-up tale. Darkness is set within the same world of Narr and promises players a greater depth of freedom than most RPGs that have come before it.

While the Kickstarter trailer does the game no favors (why does no one ever have a microphone?), the footage presented should appeal to fans of Diablo, Path of Exile, Baldur's Gate and any numerous amount of dungeon crawlers.

You'll Go Cucco For The New Hyrule Warriors Secret Character!

The game prides itself on its open-worldness. Streaming technology allows the world to load up seamlessly in the background, creating the illusion of a vast land to explore and conquer. You can go anywhere, and complete the quests in any order. Just make sure you have the right gear, or you'll soon find yourself on the wrong end of a sword.

"While most RPG titles offer very limited area for you to explore, restricting it by invisible walls, or simply with various design solutions, Wave of Darkness enables you to wander everywhere, and whenever you wish to do so. Of course, you can follow the strict path of the plot, and complete quests until you finish the game, or you can explore every bit and corner of Narr, meet various NPCs, complete side quests for them, and fight dangerous monsters." Dreamatrix says the game will offer over 70 hours of gameplay, and that's not including replay value.

They are only asking for $20,000 to help polish the final product. At the time of this writing, they're already over a third of the way there, but every little bit helps. We love Kickstarting and the age of crowdfunding, it allows the littler voices like Dreamatrix a chance to compete in the crowded marketplace. They've proven they can deliver a solid product, so you don't have to worry about the team imploding and failing to meet backer expectations.

They estimate the game should be finished by August. Help make that a reality, visit the Wave of Darkness Kickstarter page and donate today.
