Today You Can Download 'Rise of the Triad' For Free!

GOG.com and Apogee Software have just announced that they will be giving away 30,000 DRM-free copies of Rise of the Triad (the 2013 remake) today. There's no catch to this, it's entirely free, just for a limited time.

This Week's Video Game Releases Include Battlefield Hardline, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD And More

Make sure to check out the site at 4:00 PM GMT (12:00 PM EDT / 9:00 AM PDT / 5:00 PM CET) when it starts for your best chance at nabbing one. If you miss out, you'll still be able to pounce on it for a deep discount- 80% off. That's part of GOG.com's "Silver Bullets" picks this week as part of their weekly scheduled Staff Picks.

Other titles offered for sale include Unreal Tournament 2004 (-70%), SiN Gold (-70%), and Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000 (-50%).

GOG.com and Apogee also dropped the news that Rise of the Triad will be receiving a technical update that allows GOG.com and Steam gamers to fight online, to finally decide which is the better digital marketplace once and for all.

Rise of the Triad itself normally costs $14.99, so this is one helluva bargain. The remake of the classic first person shoter is also the kind of throwback to classic first person shooters that's remarkably refreshing nowadays, a throughly ridiculous game that doesn't take much serisously, except the amount of carnage and destruction you can cause.

Keep an eye on GOG.com today and good luck!
