EA Confirms Purging Of 23 Mobile Games From All Mobile App Stores

World-renowned game developer, marketer, publisher, and distributor Electronic Arts Inc announced that they will be purging 23 old mobile games in all platforms. Among the 23 games that will no longer see the light of day are Dead Space and Real Racing, who had raked millions of downloads and buys through the course of their existence. Another popular game that was killed was the multimillion-selling Flight Control who sold around 700,000 copies in just two months after it was released in 2009.

According to an official statement from EA, they confirmed that they will be removing some of the older games from all the mobile app stores and pointed out that they will no longer support them moving forward. The statement went on to say that they are focusing on efforts in developing new and exciting titles as well as bringing new content and updates to all their existing popular games.

The statement also had the complete list of the games which are Bejeweled 2, Burnout Crash, Dead Space, Don't Fall Off, EA Shooter Pack / Battle Pack, Flight Control, Flight Control Rocket, Fly With Me, Lemonade Tycoon, Mass Effect Infiltrator, MMA, MMA (Free), Need for Speed Shift, Need for Speed for iPad, Real Racing, Sims Medieval, Skate It, Spore Creatures, Spore Creatures (Free), Spore Origins, Spore Origins (Free), Spy Mouse, and Spy Mouse HD.

Of all the companies that will most likely to get a direct hit on the purging of the 23 EA games is Apple. Apple's partnership with EA had gained them momentum with regards to the mobile game industry, even if the then App Store was stormed by tons of issues.

EA Mobile was founded in 2004 by John Batter where initially it tapped as well to do ringtones for mobile phones, PDAs, and personal computers. EA Mobile was responsible for bringing the well-known mobile game titles like The Sims, Need for Speed, and FIFA.
