In EuroGamer's review, "Total War: Warhammer" has a blind spot in every battle and a very diverse roster. The game has become more sophisticated, so that not every type of unit has an expected weakness. It also explains why auto-resolving is not the common approach anymore. Players can manipulate some elements to drastically change the outcome of battle, whether it is an item ability, a new unit or a spell.

Furthermore, "Total War: Warhammer" features heroes that gets directly involved in combat, and do not merely provide buffs to troops. There are some heroes that seek out enemy generals and become an important factor in winning battles. Many of the traditional elements and rules are still in play, such as maintaining the distance of magic casters and the need to protect some heroes.

The spells are not overpowered, which provides balance to clashes. The "Total War: Warhammer" campaign map helps orient players to the Warhammer universe. There are five playable races that require different styles of play. Compared to its predecessors, "Total War: Warhammer" has more interesting points to present and a more dynamic gameplay.

"Total War: Warhammer" showcases five races that are aiming to dominate the whole map. There are a number of deviations from the original series, such as limitations in the cities that can be occupied and the free-for-all feel. Players have to consider their potential allies and the consequences that can arise with neighboring races. The end-game of "Total War: Warhammer" features an unstoppable Chaos horde that can fix the issue of a player becoming increasingly powerful.

Overall, the two franchises has done a great job in making "Total War: Warhammer." More updates and details on "Total War: Warhammer" are expected soon.
