Apple 2016 Latest News: Tech Giant Plans To Stock Up 72 To 78 Million iPhone 7 Units By The Fall

The iPhone 7 rumors are not expected to slow down anytime soon with most reports focusing on the specs that the next Apple flagship will have to offer. Despite the fact that the iPhone 7 is coming out with minimal changes, the Cupertino company wants its supply chains to be ready by ordering them to have ample stocks by the Fall.

The recent days have seen leaked specs that include a larger storage space (256 GB), a dual-lens camera and possibly some HTC BoomSound like speakers. The focus on the specs is understandable since iPhone loyalists want to dig deep on whether rumors are true that the next iPhone offering will have lesser to offer.

Based on the production plan directives though, Apple is still treating the iPhone 7 similarly to how it launches its previous flagships. The company has reportedly instructed its supply chains to produce 72 and 78 million of the iPhone 7 by the time it officially comes out this Fall.

Foxconn will still be behind the production of the next Apple flagship as it turns to its hundreds of thousands of works to complete the task over in China. With a first-ever decline in sales reported last month, Apple is hoping that the iPhone 7 will help address the issue and pull them back in the black.

With minimal changes and limited features, seeing the iPhone 7 achieve that seems a bit tall. Also, it may have to contend with the fact that the iPhone 7 will have to deal with reality as calls for consumers to just wait for the iPhone 8 instead grows louder.

The iPhone 8 is widely believes to be the variant that will offer major changes in the iPhone line, including a potential shift to the OLED-based display plus some other perks. For now however, it will be interesting how the consumer electronics market will respond when Apple unveils their 2016 iPhone edition.
