Twitter Launches Dashboard For Smaller Businesses

Twitter is on a roll with new additions to the social network, from its recent Twitter Engage that targets influencers to the just-released Twitter Dashboard, a web and iOS feature for small business to help them better reach their customers. The new feature enables the user or business to schedule tweets (much like Facebook pages' scheduled posts) so that even if the owner is busy, he or she can input messages that will be published at a later time.

Tech Crunch reports that Twitter Dashboard can also let business owners create a custom feed to monitor buzz about their products and services, regardless if they are using the business "@" handle or merely mentioning the brand. Moreover, users can also access useful analytics and tips on how to engage their customers, giving business owners more tools and more control of how they want to communicate and monitor their communities.

"Twitter has always been about giving people a lot of control. You choose who you follow, and I think we've done a really good job at making sure that is, first and foremost, the experience you have," Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey told Bloomberg  in March.

"I think as anything grows, you get in this mode of paying more attention to the folks you don't have instead of the folks you do have. And we have a mindset of making sure that we're building a stronger tool and a more powerful tool for the people we do have," Dorsey said about reaching more target clients. "When you have that focus, and when you're really listening to your customers, it tends to grow."

And grow, it did, as Twitter acquired Periscope in 2015, the live video streaming app developed by Kayvon Beykpour and Joe Bernstein. Periscope was also named App of the Year by Apple.
