Google has been awfully quiet as far as a potential new handset is concerned so the latest word tied up to an alleged coming of a Google Nexus phone raises some eyebrows.
Spicing it up as well is that the alleged Google Nexus 2016 smartphone will come armed with Android Nougat, something that has equally be out of the rumor mill.
The closest to a new smartphone coming out was reported here on Game and Guide a couple of weeks ago. This had to do with Google reportedly in the midst of talks with mobile operators on the development of an in-house phone. The initiative is different from past deals Google has had with LG and Huawei.
Is there really a Google Nexus 2016?
Aside from that alleged Google in-house phone, it is perhaps the closest a potential Google Nexus 2016 has of coming to fruition.
For now, anything tied up to a possible Google Nexus 2016 coming has been purely rumors. Some sites have reported that the next Google Nexus device will be called “Sailfish” and “Marlin”, both featuring similar specs with the difference being the screen sizes.
Nexus Sailfish and Nexus Marlin rumors
The Nexus Sailfish will reportedly offer a 5-inch screen display while the Nexus Marlin will offer a larger one measuring 5.5-inches.
As far as the specs, Neurogadet bares that this would include a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 4 GB of RAM, a fingerprint reader and a new USB-C port.
The same case practically holds true for the Google OS named Nougat. There is growing belief that the company is busy applying the finishing touches on the Android Nougat and that it could be out by August. The thing is that all this has yet to be confirmed.
Some sites like Android Police report that the Android Nougat is in the beta testing stages though seeing an August release may be too close to call. Right now, all of this is nothing more than a rumor that may stay up in the air unless something credible crops up.
