Speculations are gathering that on the next season of "Scandal" Season 6. Claims have surfaced that Mellie will be seeing her dreams of becoming the next U.S. president break into pieces.

Showrunner Shonda Rhimes lately exposed to Entertainment Weekly that "Scandal" Season 6 would begin on the evening of the presidential elections. This means that audience will be able to know the new set of elected officials to rule the country right away and the presidential nominees would be either Mellie or Frankie.

Shonda Rhimes also said that Mellie on "Scandal" Season 6 and its forthcoming episodes would be faced with a rude awakening as she will notice that the other party has chosen Cyrus being their VP candidate. Rhonda also added that Mellie is outlining her plans towards overtaking Frankie.

According to Variety, in the upcoming episodes of "Scandal" Season 6, Mellie is confident in winning the elections. People have once shared thoughts with Mellie after discovering that Fitz had an affair behind the first Lady's consciousness. What could shake up Mellie's resolve is the knowledge that Cyrus would end up ruining her.

One of the actors of "Scandal" Season 6 said "I think that sends a chill through every spine in D.C. when that gets announced because Cyrus is such a monster and has the dirt on everyone and everyone knows that he's capable of anything. Mellie doesn't know when we leave the finale, but it will shatter her.

Mellie would be a little hubris about beating Vargas, but paired with Cyrus, all bets are off. It will really be bloodbath if we come back to an election in "Scandal" Season 6. For the fans and followers, the premiere episode is expected to in midseason 2017 on ABC.
