MacBook Pro 2016 Latest Rumors, Release Date & Update: Kaby Lake Processors Unlikely To Make It

Apple is expected to release the MacBook Pro 2016 this coming Fall with many expecting it to come with the latest Kaby Lake chips from Intel. The bad news is that the release date of the latest 14 nm chips could spoil that belief.

The Kaby Lake processors were already shown off at the Intel Developer Forum. It was put to good use, with on-screen demos on what the latest processor can do.

On display was how the processor made a different on video editing and how machines performed when using high-graphic demanding games such as “Overwatch”. Among the laptops used were an HP two-in-one and a Dell XPS laptop.

From the presentation, it looks like the Kaby Lake processor was good as hyped. The third chip using Intel’s 14 nm process made quite an impression, something that even provided support for Thunderbolt 3, native USB 3.1 and DisplayPort 1.2.

The MacBook Pro 2016 is believed to be coming in the Fall. If all goes according to schedule, there is word right now that it could settle for a Skylake processor, MacRumors reported.

Apparently, Intel is following a schedule and Apple is not up until the latter part of 2016. If so, this means that the MacBook Pro 2016 will likely miss out.

Hence it could be one of two things – Apple will hold off (or delay) the release of the next MacBook Pro or go on and offer one running on Skylake processors. Seeing how the Cupertino company is notorious for delays, they may be wise to delay it rather than risk low sales yet again.

Apple already has enough problems with an upcoming iPhone 7 that has barely striking features to boast so pushing for a MacBook Pro 2016 release could be risky. There are other features such as that OLED touch panel, Touch ID, and a slimmer make.

But with a much anticipated and powerful Kaby Lake processor out of the mix, consumer buying behaviors may eventually be altered.
