'Iron Man 4' Release Date, News & Update: Tony Stark to Pass Torch; Actor Refused Movie Due to Pay?
"Iron Man 4" is considered as one of the most anticipated continuities of the Marvel franchise. Coming from three installments, the question as to what will happen next to Tony Stark has still not been ruled out.
Some spoilers may be indicated below in relation to the future of the Marvel universe. As some avid fans of the Marvel universe may know, Tony Stark is not the only to inhabitant the particular Iron Man costume, which may be the case for "Iron Man 4."
According to Parent Herald, a circulating rumor about "Iron Man 4" that got fans baffled is the relinquishing of the Iron Man throne by actor Robert Downey Jr. After the events that transpired in "Captain America: Civil War," fans have theorized that Iron Man will no longer be coming back the same way; moving forward with the designated successor being Riri Williams.
For those unaware, Riri Williams is a female African-American who decided to copy the Iron Man costume by using lower grade materials and Tony Stark discovered thereafter. For the upcoming "Iron Man 4," it is said that Riri could be introduced, but is not yet confirmed by Marvel.
As per Christian Today, one speculation that could be the cause of the said story shift is due to Robert Downey Jr. turning down the role due to financial misunderstandings. Even after saying the he still has one more shot in him to do "Iron Man 4," the actor's contract has already expired and renewal of such is still a matter to wait for.
If the Marvel Cinematic Universe is to indeed follow the alleged storyline around Riri Williams in "Iron Man 4," she will then pursue the next step in her journey being Ironheart. Iron Man himself officially named Williams the successor to the saga.
Will "Iron Man 4" shed light to a new Iron Man? Or is Riri Williams the next one in line? Stay tuned for further news.
