‘Titanfall: Frontline” Release Date, Gameplay and Details: Mobile Strategy Card Game Will Be Free-to-Play; Similar to ‘Hearthstone?’

A new mobile card game, "Titanfall: Frontline," will be arriving, which fuses elements from "Titanfall" and "Hearthstone." The strategy card game is free and includes real-time multiplayer.

"Titanfall: Frontline" is the first among a slate of mobile games from the franchise that were previously announced. According to game publisher Nexon, "Titanfall Frontline" will showcase deck-building, which includes hundreds of Titans, Pilots and special ability Burn Cards, among others. Players can build, customize and upgrade their "Titanfall: Frontline" decks that will match their preferred playstyle. There are several options for card gamers when it comes to style.

GameSpot revealed that "Titanfall: Frontline" deck builders that prefer fast games and quick damage can rely on specific Titans and Pilots. There are also cards that are ideal for players who prefer a strong defense. There is a whole range of cards available that will allow creative combos and even a combination of playing styles. There are installations, support personnel and items that will make the whole "Titanfall: Frontline" experience more interesting.

According to game developer Particle City, they collaborated with "Titanfall 2" developer Respawn to integrate the card battle strategy and collectability with the gameplay elements that made "Titanfall" a favorite. These are expected to help evolve the genre. Co-founder Larry Pacey shared that there are so many actions available in "Titanfall: Frontline." These include using a fusion of Rodeo and Parkour Burn Cards to attack a Titan, dropping a Titan onto the battlefield and more. Polygon noted that "Titanfall: Frontline" may have similarities with other digital card games like "Hearthstone" by Blizzard Entertainment.

However, the upcoming game provides players-versus-players battles that happen in real-time, instead of the usual turn-based combat. General manager Lawrence Koh stated that they plan to publish more mobile games after "Titanfall: Frontline." The strategy card game is set to launch in fall 2016 on iOS and Android devices. "Titanfall 2" will arrive on October 28 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. The upcoming video game will not feature any early playtime or discounts for subscribers of EA Access, however.
