‘Avatar 2’ Release Date, News & Update: Stephen Lang, Sigourney Weaver Take Lead From Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana? 4 Sequels Delayed Too?

Millions of fans all over the world has been wondering why the sequel of the blockbuster film "Avatar" has been delayed. "Avatar" is still the top grossing film since it was released on 2009. Rumors and speculations about its sequel have been circulating because there is no any official announcements made for "Avatar 2."

According to a report from Ecumenical News, the "Avatar 2" storyline will be about Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) and their family. Even though the two leading characters came from different world, it would not be hard for them to adapt to each other. If we can recall Jake Sully transferred his consciousness to his Na'vi body on the first movie, in "Avatar 2" Jake would not be able to come back to his human body and he will be living as a Na'vi instead.

Two main characters might also be reprising their roles. Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang) and Dr. Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver) might still part of the "Avatar 2," as stated by CSN. The two characters died on the first movie but they might be resurrected by the people of Pandora in the upcoming sequel.

According to our previous report, the development team is still busy with their upcoming movie the "Star Wars: Episode VIII." So, the rumors are saying the "Avatar 2" movie will be launched next year might not be true because they still have to prioritize another movie.

But because the "Avatar" movie franchise is very successful, it will have four movie sequels. December 2018 is the expected premiere of the "Avatar 2" that will be followed by "Avatar 3" in 2020, the "Avatar 4" in 2022 and the "Avatar" 5 on 2023.
