GoPro's Hero5 Black and Hero5 Session were recently unveiled to positive feedback from adventurists the world over who were looking to upgrade from their predecessors. Both action cameras showed a slew of amazing new features that are sure to excite.

Both GoPro Hero5 Black and Hero5 Session are now available for $399 and $299 respectively, and both seem to have delivered in the user experience department. In fact, Engadget reports that some highly anticipated features were definitely worth the wait. The GoPro Hero5 Session boasts of 4K and 2.7K video modes with options for frame rates and advanced photo modes. Not bad for a mid-range action camera. It has a touchscreen and is great at responding at voice commands. It also featuser a waterproof body even if you don't have a case.

Speaking of waterproof, the new GoPro Hero5 Black is also waterproof for up to 33 feet or 10 meters below the surface. Usability-wise, it's pocket-friendly despite being slightly larger than the Hero4. But for those who are looking to attach it to a drone, there's a problem. The GoPro Hero5 is too big for drones and accesorise designed for the Hero3 and Hero4. We'll have to wait for the release of accessories and gadgets that would be compatible, size-wise, to the GoPro Hero5.

One of the greatest additions to the GoPro Hero5 Black is the GPS function, which records the location of a photo you've taken. Since it's new, however, users must not expect much from it just yet. However, GoPro is already working with Dashware to come up with greater updates for their GoPro line.

Wired is praising the touchscreen of the GoPro Hero5 Black, a function that was missing from its predecessors. It measures 2-inches diagonally and features is very easy to use. As for its exterior, users who have the predecessors of the GoPro Hero5 would notice that the button in front of the GoPro isn't there anymore. Now, there's a button the side that enables users to start and stop recording. For its battery, the GoPro Hero5 Black is now equipped with 1220mAh from the previous 1160mAh, making for longer adventures.
