2013 Acadamy Awards Coverage Coming to Xbox Live

Xbox 360-owning cord-cutters looking to watch the Oscars tomorrow night no longer have to worry about finding someone with cable too mooch off of. The Associated Press will be streaming their Oscar-night coverage through Xbox Live.

As with many third-party streaming options, the service will be free for anyone with an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Coverage starts before the show on the Red Carpet at 6pm Eastern.

In providing services to make the Xbox 360 into consumers' preferred centralized media box, Microsoft has taken to providing streaming coverage for noteworthy "destination TV" coverage events, including the 2012 presidential debates, the 2013 Grammy awards, and the 2012 VGAs.

As in past Xbox-streamed events, viewers with tablets and smartphones can use Smartglass to "access additional information." Expect lots of charts showing whether or not Xbox-users think Jennifer Lawrence is showing enough clevage.
