Nonetheless, several industry experts still believe that Microsoft will launch the new Microsoft Surface Pro 5 sooner than expected. According to a report by Game N Guide, the American tech giant is expected to hold an event later this month. Rumor has it that the company is already planning to officially announce the new portable computer during the affair; however, this has yet to be confirmed by Microsoft. There are speculations suggesting that the upcoming Microsoft event is not meant to showcase the company's hardware products but rather its upcoming Windows 10 Redstone 2 operating system.
A 2016 release for Microsoft Surface Pro 5 might also sound unlikely as the company will reportedly use Intel's next generation core processor, the Kaby Lake, to power the upcoming device. Intel had already confirmed that they do not have any plan of rolling out the new chipset until the year ends, which suggests that Microsoft might launch the new portable computer early next year. However, if Microsoft decides to have an early release for the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 this year, the company will most likely use the current Intel Sky Lake processor.
Meanwhile, several industry experts have already predicted that the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will come out with an $899 price tag, which is similar to the current Microsoft Surface Pro 4. If rumors prove to be true, the new hybrid laptop will certainly be a good buy for consumers considering it arrives with Intel's latest Kaby Lake chipset.
