OnePlus continues to garner attention from customers due to their decent smartphone models. The Chinese tech firm manufactures gadgets that feature high-end specs without putting a dent on your wallet. OnePlus 3 has done its part of being an impressive smartphone so it's about time to look forward to the next iteration, the OnePlus 4.
OnePlus 3, although being a great device, still has its flaws, which can only be improved with the release of a new model. OnePlus hasn't confirmed the existence of OnePlus 4 but there are already rumors suggesting a 2017 release. As per the latest from Tech Radar, the upcoming flagship may arrive in the middle of 2017, specifically sometime in June. However, if the company decides to have an earlier release date, a new OnePlus flagship could be launched sometime around the same date as Samsung Galaxy 8, which is rumored to be in March 2017, to tighten the competition.
As for the specs, rumors have it that OnePlus 4 will sport a unique design featuring an aluminum curved body. The device is said to have a 5.5-inch 4K screen that supports 3D-video or movie viewing. The camera is also expected to receive an upgrade. OnePlus 3 has a 16-megapixel rear camera but OnePlus 4 is rumored to have more than that - probably 22 megapixels or more. For the selfie camera in the front, it's unlikely that OnePlus will improve this as most front cameras from rival brands already have eight or less than eight megapixels.
Other reports suggest that OnePlus 4 will be shipped with Android Nougat pre-installed. It is also said to carry a powerful 8 GB RAM and a Snapdragon 830 chipset. If any of these rumored specs turn out to be true, then OnePlus 4 might just turn out to be a flagship killer once it hits the shelves. For now, readers should take the abovementioned information with a pinch of salt until the company actually confirms them.
