After the news that David Hayter wouldn't be reprising his role as the gravel voiced Snake in "Metal Gear 5," a character to whom he's given life since 1998, fans flocked to petition sites like a fat kid to cupcakes in an attempt to right the wrongs.
At least two petitions are circling, asking series creator Hideo Kojima to keep / bring back David Hayter.
"David Hayter is the voice of Snake/ Big Boss. His voice is iconic to the series, No matter how good MGSV is, it won't be the same without him," wrote one petition author.
At the moment, there's about 3,500 signatures between just these two petitions.
It's still unknown just why he won't be returning to the role. He maintains he wasn't even asked to be a part of the next game. Kojima was interviewed by noted gaming journalist Geoff Keighley, who alleges the reason for Hayter's absence will be explained soon enough.
