Fans are eagerly awaiting for Outlast 2 release date. The sequel to the critically acclaimed survival horror game Outlast is set in the same universe where the player goes through a journey to the depths of the human mind and its deepest secrets.
Outlast 2 is a first-person survival horror game. Players go through a single-player campaign. The sequel has the same premise as its predecessor but involves a different character and setting. The sequel is set in the Sonoran desert. The game has the found footage characteristics like the first one.
In Outlast 2, the player is in control of a freelance journalist, named Blake Langermann. The character goes to investigate a shabby rural area in Supai, Arizona, located near the Sonoran Desert. Like the first game, the character cannot fight- he can only hide in lockers and ran when possible. The character has a camcorder with a night vision feature. Players will have to look for batteries when the night vision feature drained the camcorder's battery.
The main character for Outlast 2, Langermann. is a cameraman which means that he might have a much advanced camera unit in his possession. It is possible that the player's camera might have a zoom, audio detection or heat sensor features. The character is also wearing glasses. This will limit the player's vision when it falls off.
Langermann goes to a location after following up on the story about the murder of a young, pregnant woman who was only known as Jane Doe. He will encounter a cult who believe that the end is upon them. Outlast 2 will be set in a village which is seemingly cut off from the society.
Outlast 2 release date is expected to be on 2017. Red Barrel, the developer responsible for the game have confirmed that the sequel is on development last October 2014. Red Barrel also stated that the character and setting would be different that the first game.
