According to a report by Variety, Rosenberg explained during her visit at "Transforming Hollywood 7: Diversifying Entertainment" in October that the plan of the production team is to increase the total number of female directors for "Jessica Jones" Season 2. According to the publication, Marvel and the American multinational streaming company Netflix are completely fine with the decision. It was revealed by Rosenberg that the idea started from the people behind the show and it was decided by all of them to push through with the plan.
In another report, despite the hype surround "Jessica Jones" Season 2, Netflix and the rest of the production people have yet to provide plot details and what could possibly happen to the main protagonist. It was previously rumored that "Jessica Jones" Season 2 might focus on her relationship with a new character that has yet to be revealed. According to the team, they are still working heavily on the scripts; however, it is almost complete and filming should start early next year.
Meanwhile, the previous season of the hit show had more female directors than any other TV series. If Rosenberg and the rest of the production crew stick to the plan, "Jessica Jones" Season 2 could be the most female-represented show.
As of the moment, the main star of "Jessica Jones" Season 2, Krysten Ritter, is currently in the production set for her upcoming show "The Defenders." Her character, Jessica Jones is expected to face the female superhero Misty Knight. For now, Netflix has yet to provide the air date specifics of Jessica Jones" Season 2.
