Splinter Cell: Blacklist Will See Return Of Spies Vs Mercs [TRAILER]

Although Ubisoft is yet to start showing off the anticipated multiplayer features for Splinter Cell: Blacklist, the company has revealed, via a new trailer, that the much beloved multiplayer mode Spies vs Mercs will be coming back to the stealth title.

This is big news for old-school Splinter Cell fans. The mode was in earlier Splinter Cell titles Chaos Theory and Double Agent. The recently released teaser states that the company will be showcasing the first footage from Spies versus Mercs on May 2.

Spies versus Mercs is a team-based multiplayer experience. In it, players take on the roles of either spies or mercenaries and try to complete opposing objectives. While the spies must make use of stealth and gadgets to complete their mission, mercenaries do their jobs with heavy firepower.

The introduction of the Spies versus Mercs mode is also a good thing for the company, as Ubisoft has come under a lot of criticism recently from diehard Sam Fisher fans, who say the game’s recent focus on action should not be part of a franchise known for stealth.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is set for an August release on current generation consoles and PC.
