'Pokemon Go' Latest News & Update: Niantic Has Disabled PokeStop While Driving; Will The Game Be Safer To Play?

After a 9-year old boy was accidentally killed by a truck while the driver was playing "Pokemon Go" in Ichinomiya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan last month. The incident prompted Niantic to provide some strict restriction with their rules concerning with the driving speed while playing the game.

Niantic has changed some mechanics of "Pokemon Go" concerning speed uses that has disabled some of its common features. According to Japan News, players would not be able to spin PokeStops while they are transiting at a specific speed while driving a car or in a vehicle.

PokeStops enables trainers to obtain Pokeball and Potions which are very useful in training and catching Pokemon.Even though the PokeStops are visible on the "Pokemon Go map", the players will be notified with a message, "Try Again Later" when a player tries to spin the Pokestop while traveling in a speed of 30MPH.

"Pokemon Go" players are upset about the changes that were noticed on Tuesday, it is thought to be that Niantic was pressured by the Japanese officials to strictly implement the new rules after the accident.

"The restriction is surely a step forward," said the father of the 9-year-old boy, Takatoshi Noritake. The Japanese Times reported that the boy was going home when the incident occurred. He was on the pedestrian lane when the truck driver whacked the elementary student by accident while playing "Pokemon Go"

The truck driver confessed that he was playing "Pokemon Go" while driving the truck. The driver was immediately sentenced to a 14 months jail time last October 21. There has been similar incidents that were reported in some parts of Japan that caused some casualties all because of drivers using their mobile phones.

"Pokemon Go" has been experiencing negative remarks from the press because of the players playing the game while driving. Niantic has also released a similar update where there won't be Pokemon appearing while players are traveling in a certain speed.
