‘The Last Of Us' 2 Release Date, News & Latest Updates: It’s Confirmed, the Sequel is Arriving

Not because a videogame is confirmed, fans will get an instant release date. "The Last of Us 2" is a living proof that, regardless of what has been confirmed, it may take years before it materializes. Over a year ago, Nolan North, the voice behind Uncharted 4's Nathan Drake confirmed that, Naughty Dog is brainstorming for the new title.

Another incident that started the rumor that "The Last of Us 2" is arriving happened during a livestream wherein, Naughty Dog's Josh Scherr mentioned the title out of nowhere. While the stream talked about the Uncharted 4 series, Scherr said "All the facial animation in the Uncharted series was led up by Eric, here . . . and [on] the first The Last of Us. Uh, did I say the first The Last of Us?"

"The Last of Us 2' gained massive following after "The Last of Us" successfully attracted millions of fans. Unfortunately, Naughty Dog dodged inquiries on when will they release the sequel. When Nolan North said, the title will soon go under development, all hopes came rushing in and fans expected an earlier release date.

Now, it looks like Naughty Dog is looking forward to 2018 as the released of "The Last of Us 2." Meanwhile, Gamerant also featured the leaked Linkedin profile picture of developer Michael Knowland showing "The Last of Us" picture. He also said that, he spent the whole month "prototyping the head sculpts" of the sequel.

Apparently, that alone shed some new light on the rumored "The Last of Us 2" development. Unfortunately, that was all the revelation made for the title and details about its expected release date was undisclosed. Meanwhile, a spoiler hinting on Ellie and Joel returning for "The Last of Us 2" was also mentioned. For more of the title's latest news and update, make sure to read us here on GameNGuide.
