The Brooklyn Nets could use a point guard at this point, especially with Jeremy Lin out due to injury. Looking at it long-term, seeing both playing side-by-side could be pretty interesting.
Knight is only 24-years-old but has apparently been linked to possible trade moves. With the Phoenix Suns, he needs to share guard duties with Eric Bledsoe and other guards which could hinder his rise.
Brandon Knight could offset opportunity for younger legs
The Nets are don’t have a first-round draft pick until 2019, thanks largely to the trades done by former general manager Billy King, Hoops Habit reported. Hence, the best the Nets can do is either pluck one from the free agent market or trade some of their assets for Knight.
Unlike other guards who could be looking to move, Knight is an affordable player to consider. He is currently playing out a four-year $56,500,000 deal with the Suns so coach Kenny Atkinson may want to look into that possibility.
Knight is unlikely to seek for the stars at this point, unless some team offers him a ridiculous max contract for some reason. At the rate that he is being used in Phoenix by coach Earl Watson, that could be a long shot, Arizona Sports reported.

Knight is promising cager but the fact remains that his skills need to evolve. Atkinson has been credited to the evolution of Jeremy Lin so he could certainly do the same for Knight.
The flexibility of Knight is another aspect that should be interesting as well. He can play the point and off guard position, meaning Lin’s spot will not be threatened. More so, a Lin-Knight combo should be something to look forward to, not to mention more drives or dishes to the basket that should aid the Nets on offense.
