'Pokemon Sun and Moon' Guide: The Best Pokemon Found In Melemele Island and How to Catch Them

In “Pokemon Sun and Moon”, Melemele island is the first of the four island players will explore. Along the exploration is making sure that every Pokemon found in the island is caught and included in the player’s Pokedex. This guide provides a list of all the Pokemon found in the island and where to catch them.

Rockruff and Lycanroc

Rockruff can be found is Ten Carat Hill in both “Pokemon Sun and Moon” game. Just head left from the Professor’s house and players will need to smash a rock that blocks the path up the hill. Players can use Tauros to smash it. Lycanroc, who is Rockruff’s evolve, can be found at the Vast Poni Canyon. Catch it during midday when playing on “Pokemon Sun” and midnight if playing “Pokemon Moon”

Pichu, Pikachu or Alolan Raichu

To catch Pichu and Pikachu, hang out at Route 1 or Hau’oli City. To evolve the Pikachu to Alolan Raichu, one must improve their relationship first by increasing happiness through Pokemon Refresh. When the relationship is good, expose the Pokemon to a thunder stone and there comes Alolan Raichu.

Grubbin, Charjabug, and Vikavolt

Grubbin, who is considered to be one of the strongest bug Pokemon, is found in Route 1, 4, 5, and 6 of Melemele Island while Charjabug is an evolved Pokemon of Grubbin or can be caught in Blush Mountain. However, Vikavolt is not a wild Pokemon so it must be evolved to be acquired.

Pikipek, Trumbeak, and Toucannon

Pikipek is one of the best Pokemon of its type so it is recommended to be included in the player’s main Pokemon. Catch it in the wild in Route 1, 4, 5, 6 and 8. Trumbeak can be caught in Route 5, 8 and 11 but can also be evolved from Pikipek. Toucannon cannot be caught in the wild either so one must evolve it from Trumbeak to get it.

Crabrawler and Crabominable

Crabrawler can be seen in Route 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 16, and 17, The Poni Wilds and Plains, and the Secluded Shore. However, one will not find it in the grassy areas but in places with piles of berries. Crabominable cannot be caught from the wild so players will need to evolve it while in Mount Lanakina from Crabrawler to get one.

Fomantis and Lurantis

Fomantis is a new kind of grass-type Pokemon that is usually seen in Lush Jungle area and Route 5. You cannot catch Lurantis in the wild so you need to evolve it from Fomantis during the daytime and only in level 34 or higher.
