Doyodo RetroEngine Sigma Release Date, News & Update: Linux-Powered Emulation Console For Classic Games Soon To Launch!

Doyodo has launched a mini-console RetroEngine Sigma that can run classic video games and soon to release in the market. The mini-console is said to directly compete with Nintendo's NES Classic Edition console.

Doyodo, a design company has introduced its crowd funding campaign console called RetroEngine Sigma. The mini-console is also a plug-and-play media player that is capable of running thousands of classic video games using an emulator.

Doyodo RetroEngine Sigma is a small console which is Linux-powered and runs with Kodi Media Center. The console can play NES, Atari, GameBoy, PlayStation 1, Genesis and more with the use of emulators. Doyodo brags that the device doesn't need an expertise or any experience to set up the device.

According to Digital Trends, Doyodo RetroEngine Sigma has multiple USB ports which perfectly fits any broad variety of original gaming controllers. It also has built-in WiFi and Bluetooth support that can be used in pairing any wireless gaming controllers like Sony's Dual Shock 4.

The Doyodo RetroEngine Sigma can also connect with a smartphone or a tablet, wireless keyboards and mouse, which allow users to create a customized workspace. It is powered by Cortex-A7 chip clocked at 1.2GHz. It is also built with Mali 400 MP2 GPU with 512MB of DDR3 RAM and supports HDMI.

What makes Doyodo RetroEngine Sigma unique to another cheap console alternative like the Raspberry Pi is that the Linux-powered console features an automated setup. This feature allows the players to easily add any playable ROM to the device without eating much of their time.

According to Doyodo RetroEngine Sigma pitch in IndieGoGo, "the first time you plug it in, our installer will inject everything you need into the system to start gaming." Doyodo bragged that the users can even write a novel or do taxes with the use of Kodi Media Center.

Meanwhile, Doyodo RetroEngine Sigma has 15 pre-installed branded games out of the box. The plug-and-play installer will allow players to download and install another emulators and games from any public sources.
