Destiny 2 Rumors, Release Date, And Updates: Sequel Will Be Biggest Online Shooter Yet, Offer True MMORPG Experience

Activison and Bungie aren't pulling any punches when it comes to Destiny 2. Destiny was supposed to be a game-changer for the online shooter genre. And although it has delivered on some aspects of its promise, fans are still left wanting more from the series. But based on the news detailing the development for Destiny 2, it looks like the sequel will fulfill the promises made by the first game and maybe even surpass it.

It looks like Destiny 2 will be the biggest game Bungie and Activision will produce. The first announcement on Destiny 2 was made about 4 months ago stating that a majority of Bungie has been working on Destiny 2. But now that Destiny's last expansion, The Rise Of Iron was just released last September, we can expect the whole studio of Bungie already workin on Destiny 2. It was also previously stated by Activision that work on Destiny 2 has already begun just a few weeks after the release of the first game. It suggests that work has already begun for the sequel which should mean to be bigger than the first game.

Along with Bungie, Vicarious Visions has also pledged their support for Destiny 2. The studio has been said to help expand the Destiny universe and help its future. Vicarious Visions is the studio known for the Skylanders series which featured diverse worlds that players can fully explore and play to their heart's content. We can expect Vicarious' expertise in world building to be fully applied in Destiny 2.

In addition, High Moon Studios is also developing Destiny 2. The studio is known for their Transformer Cybertron series and is generally praised for its accurate portrayal for the Transformer universe. Expect to see some Transformer inspired designs in Destiny 2.

All in all, that makes 3 studios working on Destiny 2. Destiny 2 will surely be the biggest online shooter yet. And without the older console generation holding Destiny 2 back, we can expect an exponential increase in the game's world. If Bungie is serious about redefining Destiny with the sequel, just like what Diablo 2 did, then Destiny should be a full on MMORPG game with a seamless world. It should challenge World of Warcraft as the top online multiplayer game if it hopes to fulfill their initial promise.

Destiny has had 2 years on the market which Bungie can use to improve and learn from their mistakes and study other similar games. But with 3 studios backing it up, Destiny 2 will have a good chance of reaching for the moon. Destiny 2 will be released sometime in 2017.
