Earth Defense Force 2025 Releases Bug-Stomping Trailer, Multiplayer Screenshots [VIDEO]

Pull on Your Boots- Time To Stomp Some More Bugs in Earth Defense Force 2025

The Earth Defense Force is back. It turns out that the insect Armageddon so many years ago wasn't stopped, it was just delayed, and so our tireless heroes grab new weaponry and armor to combat these new, larger threats. D3Publisher has just released this new trailer that shows off everything Earth Defense Force 2025 has to offer over the original cult classic, replete with some great metal riffs and the sonorous lavishing of our wonderful heroes.

Squash those bugs! EDF! EDF! EDF!

These screens on this page are all brand new as well, taken from the co-op multiplayer mode that will see you and three friends joining forces to take on all the bugs and robots you can handle. The graphics look much improved but the last two games in the series weren't exactly graphical powerhouses. When you get dozens of enemies thrown at you at once you won't care, you'll just be trying to kill as many as possible while "accidentally" destroying a few buildings. Destruction is half the fun, after all.

Ants swarming! Buildings crumbling! Spaceship and dragons swooping through the sky! Oh, EDF, it's good to have you back. If any upcoming game looks like more pure fun than Earth Defense Force 2025 I'll eat an entire anthill. Remember- you've now got 700 weapons to deal with all these bugs, plus a huge number of vehicles to jump in, plus four different classes to try out. The Ranger, Air Raider, Fencer and Wing Diver all control differently and when you combine their power, you can take on anything.

There's already plans for DLC soon after release but the game will come with more enemies than you can count right off the bat.

Earth Defense Force 2025 hits stores February 18th for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Game & Guide will have hands-on impressions of the game for you later this week- until then, keep that can of Raid handy.
