Goat Simulator Release Date: Download Set for April Fool's Day. Seriously. [VIDEO]

Goat Simulator Will Be Yours On April 1st

The self-proclaimed "world's dumbest game" is nearly here. Goat Simulator now has a release date of April 1st and no, it's not a joke. This is a real thing that's really happening.

It started out as a joke, though, with early alpha footage on YouTube getting much more attention than anyone expected. Developer Coffee Stain answered the mounting popularity of the project by turning it into a real game, announcing its release on Steam and releasing a new trailer that just made people want it even more.

Goat Simulator takes its inspiration from skating games like Tony Hawk Pro Skater except instead of being a skater you're a goat, and instead of doing performing skateboard tricks to get points you're smashing into objects things. Do tricks while destroying things and you'll get more points and, presumably, laughs. You can nab things with its tongue and cause all kinds of a goatly ruckus. Steam Workshop will allow people to make their own goats, missions and levels as well.

As stated on their official site: "Goat Simulator is a small, broken and stupid game. It was made in a couple of weeks so don't expect a game in the size and scope of GTA with goats. In fact, you're better off not expecting anything at all actually. To be completely honest, it would be best if you'd spend your $10 on a hula hoop, a pile of bricks, or maybe a real-life goat."

They're being serious, but it's making people only want the game more. You can preorder it from goat-simulator.com for $9.99. Expect to live out all of your hopes and dreams come April Fool's Day.
